The Smart Deduplication App lets you safely and securely scrub your contact lists, CRM data, and exports, all without signing up for yet another service or sharing your data with a third party. The tool runs completely in your browser, so you remain in full control of your information.
To get started, just compile your data into a CSV file. You can export that from Salesforce, HubSpot, or wherever your data resides. The tool currently supports CSV only, so if your data is in an Excel workbook (XLS or XLSX), open it in Excel and use File → Save As → CSV (Comma Delimited). Just beware that XLS/X workbooks with more than spreadsheets only keep the active one when you convert it into a CSV.
How the Tool Works
Once you upload your CSV, you’ll see a dashboard where you can choose how duplicates should be detected. You can match records based on one or more fields (like Email, Phone, and Company) using AND logic or OR logic, depending on how tight or broad you want your matching to be.
You can also apply normalization options to make the match more accurate, things like ignoring case differences (so “JOHN” equals “John”), trimming whitespace, and removing punctuation so “(555) 123-4567” matches “5551234567.”
When duplicates are found, you decide what happens next. You can:
- Keep the first or last version of the record.
- Prefer the entry with the most complete data (so you keep the richest record).
- Automatically keep the one marked as “Customer,” “Active,” or any keyword you set.
- Or even merge duplicates together into one “golden record” that pulls in missing fields from each.
When you hit Run Deduplication, the tool cleans your data instantly in your browser and lets you know when it's ready for download. Platform Limitations
The app currently supports:
- Files up to 10 MB in size
- CSV format only
- Local processing only. You cannot store any data within this app.
